Paramedics who were passing by the site in Sydney’s west were able to rescue a man from the wreckage of a fiery collision.
A Sydney Uber driver retrieved a man from the burning wreckage of a collision in the west.
Just before midnight, the Hyundai hatchback struck two trees on Old Windsor Road in Winston Hills before exploding into flames.
While the car’s passenger dialled 911, the 18-year-old driver was saved by a passing rideshare driver.
The 18-year-old was brought to Westmead Hospital in a stable condition, according to police, with facial and rib fractures.
The second driver was unharmed, according to a statement from NSW Police.
“Police are expected to speak with the driver in the next few days,”
NSW Fire and Rescue successfully put out the fire.
FRNSW supervisor Adam Dewberry said, “If there is a fire involved, you need to get those people to safety. We train and learn to leave people in situations so we don’t cause any further injury.”
