After people were allegedly threatened at a shopping centre in Sydney’s west yesterday, two men were charged and two imitation firearms were seized.
At around 4.15pm, police were called to the Carlisle Avenue Community Centre in Mt Druitt amid complaints of a brawl.
They were told that two ladies were fighting before a man allegedly punched one of them in the head and brandished a firearm at her.
He had fled the scene, but a 20-year-old man was apprehended nearby not long after.
According to police, he was in possession of a replica firearm.
He was charged with several charges.
Following further investigation, a second individual, also 20, but from Ropes Crossing, was apprehended.
A Ropes Crossing property was searched, and a second fake handgun was discovered in a bedroom.
The individual has already been charged with several crimes.
Both men have been denied bail and are scheduled to appear in court later today.
