A guy was charged after it was claimed that he threatened a football player with a knife following a game in Sydney’s southwest.
According to NSW Police, a spectator at a Sunday rugby league football game in Hammondville allegedly accosted a player after the game.
It happened at an A reserve grade intersection between Cabramatta and Chester Hill.
The 19-year-old allegedly threatened the player with a knife after the two guys got into an argument.
Before the man left the scene, other spectators and players “intervened and assisted,” according to the police.
Nobody was hurt.
Police arrived at the oval and detained a nearby 19-year-old male.
He is accused of fighting, having a weapon in his possession with the purpose to conduct an offense, and carrying a knife in public.
The man will make a second appearance on August 21 after Liverpool Local Court denied him bail today.
