In relation to the shooting death of a man in Newcastle last year, two men have been charged with murder.
On Tuesday, September 6, 2022, at around 11 p.m., police were called to a residence on Fowler St. in Hamilton South.
They discovered a 57-year-old man who had been shot and passed away there.
Several search warrants have been executed during the investigation, and things such as weapons have been confiscated for forensic analysis.
At around 8.45am on Tuesday, one warrant was carried out at a building on Station St in Waratah, in Newcastle’s northwest.
A 26-year-old guy was detained and charged with murder and giving a gun to someone who shouldn’t have it.
He showed up yesterday in court.
At at 8.40am yesterday, two additional search warrants were carried out at Sydney homes in Glenfield and Busby.
A short while later, a 32-year-old man was detained in the drive-through of a restaurant in Sydney’s southwest, in Harold St. Macquarie Fields.
He was also accused of murder and giving a gun to someone who wasn’t supposed to have one.
He will appear in Parramatta Local Court today after being denied bail.
