Following a daytime assault at a Perth mall, a teenager is in the hospital and three others have been taken into custody.
Just before 11.30am, Mandurah’s Smart Street Mall received a contact from Western Australia Police after a man allegedly attacked with many weapons.
Axe, knife, and hammer were reportedly seen during the altercation, according to the woman who dialled 911.
Ellie Broughton, a witness, said: “Most of what I saw was just the guy with the arm. We were basically trying to get towels around it and get anything to stop it bleeding.”
According to police, the incident featured two groups that were familiar with one another fighting in the crowded shopping district.
The 17-year-old who was reportedly injured with a weapon is in a critical but stable condition at Royal Perth Hospital.
It is known that he has back and arm injuries, but it is not known what caused them. Now, an investigation is in progress.
Three males, ages 15, 16, and 53, were later arrested by detectives and are currently being questioned by authorities.
