Following a possible crocodile attack, one of the Northern Territory’s most well-known tourist attractions has been shut down.
According to NT Parks and Wildlife, Wangi Falls in Litchfield National Park had been restricted to swimming this afternoon “following unconfirmed reports of an incident with a crocodile”.
It is requested that people abide by any closures and refrain from swimming.
Due of saltwater crocodiles travelling through the waterways during the wet season, Top End water sites are normally blocked during this time.
In the winter, they reopen following a safety inspection by rangers.
Regardless of the season, all swimmers in the NT are cautioned to practise “crocwise” behaviour and be alert of any hazards.
According to Mark News, before confirming the specifics of the incident, officials are awaiting more information from the scene.
