Several persons have been charged after it was claimed that more than $7 million worth of drugs were found during a weeklong series of raids across Sydney’s south-west.
On June 29, police executed search warrants at residences in Parramatta, Fairfield West, and Leppington.
6.4 kg of methamphetamine, 4.1 kg of heroin, 1.5 kg of cocaine, 866g of MDMA, more than $200,000 in cash, $18,000 in foreign currency, electronic equipment, and an emergency siren were allegedly discovered by investigators.
A short while later, police in Willowdale stopped an automobile.
They allegedly discovered $15,000 in cash and 1kg of methamphetamine during the search.
All of these objects were taken so they could be analysed forensically.
Four guys were taken into custody by the police in Willowdale and Leppington.
Five counts of supplying an illegal substance in a substantial commercial quantity have been brought against two males, 25 and 20, respectively.
A 19-year-old male was accused with dealing with the proceeds of crime, providing forbidden drugs in significant commercial quantities, and providing prohibited drugs.
The three men were formally denied bail and told to return to court on August 30 when they appeared in front of the judge on June 30.
A 21-year-old male was charged with dealing with the proceeds of crime, dealing with the proceeds of crime and two charges of possessing a prohibited narcotic, and he was given a summons to appear in court.
On August 18, he must appear in court.
At around 6.40am on Wednesday, investigators carried out searches of homes in Lake Heights, Sylvania, Woolooware, and Sylvania Waters.
160g of methamphetamine, 470g of MDMA, approximately $100,000 in cash, technological equipment, and paperwork were allegedly seized by the police.
A 56-year-old male was detained on the Lake Heights property and charged with two charges of supplying an indictable quantity of an illegal substance, as well as two counts of carelessly dealing with the profits of crime and knowing participating in the supply of an indictable quantity of an illegal substance.
He was granted conditional release and ordered to return to court on July 26 after making an appearance yesterday.
In Sylvania, a 30-year-old man was detained, while in Woolooware, a 28-year-old woman was detained.
She was accused of irresponsibly dealing with the proceeds of crime, two charges of supplying forbidden drugs in commercial quantities, and eight counts of disobeying orders to access digital evidence.
Both of them were denied bail in order to appear in court today.
The potential street value of the medicines seized is estimated to be $7 million.
