A man has been charged with a number of offenses during a day that saw many break-ins across Brisbane’s south.
The 19-year-old Kingston resident was allegedly driving a stolen Ford Ranger ute recklessly on the Pacific Motorway at Beenleigh when Queensland Police observed him.
Officers followed the car as it traveled north on the main road before being followed by a Polair unit as it traveled toward Loganholme.
Then it came to a stop at a Bryants Road shopping center.
He allegedly ran away from the scene on foot, but detectives apprehended him about noon.
One day earlier, the Ford Ranger is said to have been stolen.
On June 7, the individual was charged by the police with a number of offenses connected to eight break-ins.
The 19-year-old was charged with five counts of entering a location with the intent to commit an indictable offense, two counts of entering a residence with the intent to commit, using a vehicle unlawfully, driving without a license, and one count of operating a vehicle dangerously.
In addition, he was charged with obstructing police, possessing a knife in a public place, possessing a dangerous drug, having a daytime tool for breaking into a dwelling, having tainted property, possessing dangerous substances, and trying to break into a building with the intent to do so.
The Kingston resident was arrested. On July 21, he will make a second appearance at Beenleigh Magistrates Court.
