After reportedly stabbing a stranger on a bus in broad daylight on Saturday in Sydney’s inner city, a man has been taken into custody.
According to police, a 34-year-old man was suddenly stabbed by another passenger while he was riding a bus on Flinders Street in Darlinghurst at noon.
Trekieye Williams, 19, the accused assailant, then got off the bus and fled the area.
The victim’s left hand, arm, and chin were not life-threatening when he was brought to St. Vincent’s Hospital.
Officers captured the 19-year-old in Surry Hills after a brief manhunt.
According to police, Mr. Williams also allegedly robbed and attacked another man in Bondi earlier that day.
He is accused of seven offenses in total, including aggravated robbery and serious bodily harm.
Mr. Williams will appear in court today at Parramatta after being denied bail.
