Around 10.30 this morning, firefighters in Larapinta in Alice Springs discovered an unconscious youngster inside a burning home.
Before an ambulance transported the toddler to the hospital in Alice Springs, they gave CPR.
In response to concerns that someone was trapped within the structure, firefighters arrived.
Medical intervention on the child had no effect.
Investigators looking into crimes and fires are now attempting to ascertain what started the fire.
