Two additional escapees from a correctional facility near the Queensland–NSW border were found by authorities, but one prisoner is still on the run.
In Rathdowney, which is about 70 kilometers west of the Gold Coast, Antonio David Mene and two other inmates allegedly escaped from Palen Creek Correctional Center on Sunday.
The two other inmates, Daniel Badcock, 32, and Osiah Pilton, 20, were discovered by police at Northgate, a Brisbane neighborhood more than 100 kilometers away from the jail facility, at around ten in the morning.
Located near the Mount Lindesay Highway, the prison is a low-security facility made up of a number of structures.
He is characterized as having black hair and brown eyes, being 170 cm tall, and having a light build of about 73 kg.
A whole calf tattoo, four dots on the thumb, and the name “Menzie” are among the ink that is visible on his body, according to the authorities.
Due to his illegal use of a car, Mene is currently serving a three-year term.
Badcock is doing a year in prison for crimes involving weapons or explosives, Pilton is serving a year and nine months for breaking into a house with the intent to enter, and Mene is serving a three-year term for using a car without permission.
