Following a boat mishap off the coast of Western Australia, one man has passed away and two other people have been retrieved from the water after floating for four hours.
About two nautical miles off the Batavia Coast Marina in Geraldton, which is 370 kilometers north of Perth, they were discovered on Sunday at 2 o’clock.
It is believed that the trio was on a boat that sank after being struck by a wave.
One man in his 60s perished, while two others were left floating in the ocean for four hours before being discovered and reported to the nearby Marine Rescue by a boater.
Both survivors were transported back to Geraldton by Department of Fire and Emergency Services workers, where one of them, a man in his 60s as well, was sent to the neighborhood hospital with hypothermia.
It is believed that the deceased man was a native of Geraldton.
