In connection with the alleged attack of a man using a wheelchair, a police sergeant from Victoria has been charged.
On February 28, when the alleged encounter allegedly took place outside of a Shepparton residence, it is believed that the sergeant was responding to a noise complaint.
The body-worn camera footage of the police officer was also examined as part of the investigation by the professional standards command.
The 48-year-old officer was demoted to take on other responsibilities.
On August 11, he must appear before a Shepparton court to answer to two counts of illegal assault.
