A pet dog was reportedly taken by a crocodile from the coast in Far North Queensland.
Near Wiepa in Cape York, a large crocodile is seen on video sneaking up on two dogs and grabbing one while the other flees.
When the video was uploaded to social media yesterday, the owner of the pet dogs issued a warning to others to exercise caution when near water.
The event is being looked into by Queensland’s Department of Environment and Science.
The agency issues a “croc-wise in croc country” warning.
This involves following all posted instructions, never swimming, and casting from a distance of a few meters away from the water’s edge.
