In Western Australia, three men have been charged with kidnapping a guy for two days, assaulting him, and extorting money from his family.
According to police, the 68-year-old accused victim was traveling from China to Perth when he paused in Melbourne to discuss a potential business partnership. On April 23, the two took off for Washington.
Police claim that once the two men arrived in Perth, one of the 29-year-old’s friends took them to a property in Caversham, where a third man was waiting.
According to allegations, the 68-year-old man was repeatedly attacked while being detained against his will, according to a statement from Western Australia Police.
It will also be claimed that his family members were called and asked for payments to secure his release.
Police claimed to have tracked down the 68-year-old and forced their way inside the Caversham home.
The man was taken to the hospital for treatment after being discovered inside the house with several injuries, they reported.
Three men, ages 29, 37, and 31, have each been accused of kidnapping and making written threats to seize property.
The 29-year-old and the 37-year-old will appear before Midland Magistrates Court once more the following month.
The man, 31, is scheduled to show up in Perth Magistrates Court today.
