After a Perth mother allegedly suffered a knife wound in front of her two children, a man is still being watched over by police.
After being discovered at her home on Knutsford Avenue in Kewdale with terrible injuries, Emmerick Lasakar, 35, passed away on Monday at the Royal Perth Hospital.
After being detained at St James the same evening following a high-speed crash, her 15-year partner Steven Dean is still in the hospital.
Today, Lasakar’s two young children contacted triple zero, according to police commissioner Col. Blanch.
You can only image the trauma that they and the subsequent emergency services experienced, said Blanch.
Homicide investigators have not yet conducted a formal interview with Dean.
Before conducting an interview, Blanch explained, “we have to make sure that the person is absolutely fit.
According to police, Dean, who has not been charged, fled the scene in his grey Ford Ranger Raptor dual-cab vehicle, allegedly robbing a petrol station in East Victoria Park before striking a tree near St James.
In the backyard of a nearby house, he was apprehended.
He was transferred to the hospital by St. John Ambulance, where he is now being watched over by officers, according to WA officers.
As forensic investigators went back to the house on Wednesday, flowers were left there.
