A dingo that attacked a little child at a well-liked camping area in Western Australia will be put down.
On Friday night, the two-year-old toddler was attacked at the Dales Campground in the state’s north.
Serious but not life-threatening injuries were treated for the child at Tom Price hospital.
The extent of the young boy’s injuries is still unknown, however he has been released from the hospital after his experience.
On Friday night, there were more than 100 campers at the spot, where dingo sightings are frequent.
Residents have been informed by the Department of Biodiversity, Conservation and Attractions that dingo attacks are uncommon in the state.
The department issued a statement saying, “The department is not aware of any similar incident in this area.”
“Signage and materials at Dales Campground alert guests to the possibility of encounters with dingoes and offer dingo safety tips.

Rangers are ready to kill the dingo humanely as soon as a safe opportunity arises because of its aggressive behavior and the fact that it has remained at the campground since the incident.
