The second person killed as a result of the incident was a 16-year-old kid who was hurt in a car accident on Easter Sunday in Victoria’s north. He passed away in the hospital.
The child was evacuated to the hospital in a critical condition after being one of three passengers in a car that ran off the road and into a pasture at a Wangaratta intersection shortly after 7 p.m. on April 9.
A 26-year-old guy from Beaconsfield perished in the collision.
A second 24-year-old Beaconsfield guy is still being treated for non-life threatening injuries in the hospital.
Rory Teiffel, a 23-year-old Wangaratta resident who was operating the vehicle, has already appeared in court on charges related to the collision, including negligent driving that resulted in death.
The other two passengers were Mr. Teiffel’s cousins, while the 16-year-old was Mr. Teiffel’s younger brother.
On April 11, Mr. Teiffel appeared in court and was given bail. He is scheduled to return on September 7 to the Wangaratta Magistrates’ Court.
