Following his detention as part of the investigation into a single-car collision that claimed the lives of a woman and three youngsters in the New South Wales Riverina, a man has been charged with domestic abuse offences.
Shortly after 11 p.m. on Tuesday, police were informed that a resident of a house in Yanco, close to Leeton, had allegedly had their back door kicked in and been threatened.
A car travelling along Research Road crashed about 15 minutes later, killing a 36-year-old lady and three boys, ages 10, 11, and 12.
The occupants, according to the police, passed away before the arrival of rescue services.
At the intersection of Research Road and Toorak Road, the automobile is thought to have hit a post, rolled down an embankment and then landed on its roof in a water channel.
In the course of their investigations, detectives detained a 32-year-old man and a 50-year-old woman on Wednesday morning at a residence in the adjacent Griffith.
Although the man has been charged with stalking, intimidation, and aggravated break-in, there have been no charges filed in connection with the collision.
On Thursday, he will show up in front of Griffith Local Court.
Later, the woman was let go without being charged while additional inquiries were being made.
