Labor’s establishment of strongholds across mainland Australia is complete. Now, Tasmania the only state led by a Liberal government.
Chris Minnes is set to become the next premier of New South Wales, and is on course to lead a majority Labor government in the state, according to Saturday night’s Progressive vote count.
In his victory speech, the Prime Minister declared that his party was “back and ready to work” in power.
“We will not let the people of this state down,” Mr. Means said.
“We will govern for everyone in New South Wales. We know the challenges ahead are huge, our responsibilities are great. But as Labor returns to New South Wales and this great state we are ready to work.”
Mr. Minns thanked outgoing Liberal Premier Dominic Perot for his service.
“It is undeniable that this election campaign was unique, a model of respect and civility. No party cheated to win the election, no political party hurt anyone,” he said.
Prime Minister Anthony Albanese was at the forefront of election day campaigning across Sydney and at a party event in Sydney Mr. Welcome Mins to the winner’s podium.
“He epitomizes all that is good about the Australian Labor Party,” Prime Minister Mr. said about mince.
“His vision is one that always has the people at the core.”
Mr. Albanizi singled out the virtues of his fellow warrior such as morality, philosophy, kindness and justice.
On the way to the campaign Mr. Mins with Mr. Albanizi’s repeated appearances were eye-catching. But in contrast, opposition leader Peter Dutton was notably absent from the Coalition’s re-election campaign.
At the Labor Party election, federal frontbencher Chris Bowen said Mr. Minns “campaigned brilliantly”.
“He could be an important Labor premier like (Neville) Run and (Bob) Carr,” he told reporters.
