Heavy traffic delays have been caused by a 13-car collision that injured 15 persons on a major road leading to the New South Wales Central Coast.
Around 9am, according to NSW Ambulance, 13 automobiles crashed on the M1 Pacific Motorway close to Dog Trap Road in Ourimbah.
15 patients, including three men and three women in their 30s and 40s with minor injuries who were sent to the hospital, were attended to by paramedics.
A young girl who had received minor injuries was also treated and sent to the hospital.
The eight further individuals were examined on the spot but did not require hospitalization.
Following a 13-vehicle collision, “the accident site covered over 200 meters and required paramedics to assess and a large number of patients,” said NSW Ambulance inspector Phil Clark.
Despite the enormous number of patients, all of them only had minor wounds like scratches and bruises.
Following the collision, the M1 Pacific Motorway’s entire northbound lanes were shut down.
Since then, two lanes have been reopened, but one is still closed.
According to Live Traffic Sydney, the traffic is “extremely high,” therefore drivers should allow extra time or stay away from the area.
Follow the directions of the emergency services and traffic crews who are still on the site, according to Live Traffic Sydney.
The highway’s southbound lanes are all still available.
