Small companies will receive $315 immediately off their power bills under Labor’s $485 million Energy Relief Fund, and when combined with a Commonwealth government relief program, 320,000 qualified small businesses would receive an additional $315 rebate, bringing savings to $630.
Families receiving family tax benefits, retirees, senior citizens, and households receiving income support will all get $500 from the Commonwealth and the Department of Labor.
Because this program disregards the government’s $250 rebate, the Coalition has already criticized it as being cruel.
According to that policy, even customers who don’t transfer energy providers to take advantage of the reduction will receive a $250 credit from current energy retailer if they use the Service NSW website or mobile app to compare their bills for a better deal.
The Coalition claims that all households, not just some, benefit from its approach.
