A Melbourne man has been charged with murder and attempted murder after allegedly killing his sibling and stabbing his mother.
When his 29-year-old brother was discovered dead and his 62-year-old mother was allegedly stabbed in the neck at a residence in Reservoir, the 32-year-old was detained yesterday at a busy crossroads in Preston.
During the alleged knife attack, the man’s brother made an attempt to flee to a private hospital for assistance before he collapsed and died from his wounds.
After the event, heavily armed cops showed up and surrounded a residence in Reservoir.
At first, police thought the suspect was still inside the house, so they tried to talk him into surrendering.
When they attacked the residence two hours later, they discovered he had already left.
When the hours-long quest came to a conclusion, he had a gash on his cheek.
He is thought to have had large sums of cash seized by police.
In the hospital, the 65-year-old woman’s condition is stable.
The individual was accused of murder and an attempted murder early this morning.
He has been kept in detention until today’s court date.
Neighbour 82-year-old Pam Egan described the family that resided in the property as “always nice”.
They are a terrific, fantastic family who work very hard, Egan remarked.
