The Russian Foreign Ministry warned TASS on Saturday that Russia will respond to the Netherlands’ decision to reduce the staff of Russian diplomatic missions there.
Russia will respond appropriately, according to the foreign ministry.
The Netherlands agreed to reduce the number of Russian diplomats stationed there, the Dutch Foreign Ministry announced earlier on Saturday. About 10 diplomats would be expelled, according to the Netherlands Broadcasting Corporation, and they would have two weeks to leave the nation. According to the Dutch Foreign Ministry, negotiations with Russia on the conditions of the posting of diplomats have so far been fruitless.
The Netherlands withdrew 17 Russian diplomats when Russia began its special military operation in Ukraine. Russia’s response was to order the departure of 15 Dutch diplomats. Following that, new diplomats were being sent between the two nations, according to the Dutch foreign ministry.
