Prime Minister Scott Morrison lauded the celebration of Bengali New Year in the country, saying that it helps reduce inequality in society.

A statement from the Prime Minister’s Office said in a statement on Wednesday.

In a statement, the Australian Prime Minister said in Bengali at the outset, “Happy New Year.”

“I wish everyone a happy Bengali New Year. The Bengali community shares their hospitality with everyone. We respect this extraordinary cultural diversity” He added.

“After another difficult year, the multicultural celebration gives us hope and confidence for a new future, Sharing faith and culture in this way unites friends, family and society” Morrison said.
