A guy from Victoria who was last seen over 18 months ago has reportedly been murdered, and in the search for him, human remains have been discovered in bushland.
Jake Bradford’s mother reported him missing on January 29, 2023.
He was 21 years old. Off Dollar-Woorarra West Road in Dollar, the unidentified corpses were discovered about 10:30 am yesterday.
Arriving at the scene this morning were detectives from the Missing Persons Squad, Major Crime Scene Unit, and specialists from the Victorian Institute of Forensic Medicine.
On or about January 24, 2023, police have reason to think that Bradford got into a fight in the Dollar area.
A 25-year-old man from Korumburra was accused of murder in March of that year.
He was ordered to appear before Victoria’s highest court on February 24th, 2019.
On this, the day that would have been Jake’s 23rd birthday, Detective Acting Superintendent Mark Burnett of the Victoria Police expressed his deepest sympathies to his loved ones.
Their loss is still very fresh, and the last 18 months have been the hardest of their lives.
The Missing Persons Squad’s investigators have worked nonstop to exhaust all possible leads in their pursuit of answers for Jake’s family.
We are cognisant of the fact that they have been through a really trying period.
“We hope that this will bring the closure they need and Jake can finally be laid to rest.”
