An adolescent has been placed under custody for allegedly sketching a Nazi insignia on a north Sydney public restroom.
The public restrooms on Pittwater Road in Dee Why, according to the police, were vandalized at 8:30 p.m. yesterday.
Two 16-year-olds are said to have been seen using markers to draw on the walls, one of them showing a Swastika.
After seeing the two youngsters video themselves scribbling on the walls, a local man alerted the police.
He sprang into action to assist the responding police officers.
“I thought I’d try to help after getting out of the automobile.
The resident of Dee Why said, “I tried to get around the boys so they couldn’t easily escape by coming from the other side.”
After being taken into custody at the site, a sixteen-year-old kid was later released.
One of the accused youths went back to snap pictures of the wall while Mark News was there. Charges are anticipated to be brought.
