After prosecutors claim a Sydney nurse pursued another victim, the nurse will attempt to persuade a magistrate that she suffers from a mental illness.
The nurse is accused of stalking a NSW state MP.
Numerous accusations against Adrianne McKinney stem from the alleged harassment of three women, one of whom is a politician whose identity the AAP has chosen to withhold for privacy concerns.
The 39-year-old is accused of five charges of menacing, harassing, or offending someone via her phone and Instagram account, one count of stalking the MP, and one count of intimidating another lady by obtaining her medical documents.
When she appeared in Burwood Local Court on Wednesday, her attorney, Avinash Singh, admitted that the police had filed an eighth charge of stalking this second accused victim.
Singh additionally said that his client will contend that she was mentally ill, and that the hearing for this would be postponed until September 13.
According to court documents obtained by AAP, the alleged campaign of stalking and harassment took place over the course of roughly two months, from February to April of this year.
The two women are said to have feared mental or physical harm as a result of the behavior.
McKinney’s bail requirements prohibit her from owning or using a smartphone and limit her usage of an internet-connected computer to specific uses.
The 39-year-old is also charged with four counts of stalking and intimidation and three counts of using a carriage service to threaten, harass, and offend at Waverley Local Court.

Three alleged victims are protected by temporary orders prohibiting domestic abuse.
