Following the police discovery of an alleged $9 million narcotics ring operating out of an immigration detention center in Sydney, two men have been accused.
Rumoredly, during their raid of the Villawood Detention Centre, police discovered two kilograms of meth worth $165,000 concealed between porridge boxes.
The 49-year-old citizen of Nigeria was detained and brought to the Bankstown Police Station, where he was charged with two charges of direct criminal group and provide big commercial quantity and indictable quantity of illegal narcotic.
The man allegedly organized and sent runners outside the jail facility with the mission of distributing cocaine and meth in Sydney.
Then, east and west Sydney houses were raided by police.
When police knocked in Liverpool, they said a narcotics dealer attempted to flush 90 grams of heroin and 750 grams of meth down the toilet.
$325,000 in cash was allegedly discovered at the property, along with an additional 90 grams of heroin on the toilet floor.
A 24-year-old male was taken into custody by the police and accused of a number of offenses.
According to the police, he was the elder man’s go-between.
Three distinct syndicates were broken up throughout the city, according to police, as a result of this week’s activities.
Detective Superintendent Peter Faux stated during a press conference today, “The street value of those drugs which we’ve seized is in excess of $9 million.”
Bail for both men has been denied before their upcoming court dates.
