Two groups of youngsters are the target of a massive manhunt because they are allegedly terrorising homes throughout Brisbane.
In the southern area of Holland Park, some teenagers brandished weapons and confronted a little family.
Tuesday morning at 4.30 a.m., Catherine Taylor came downstairs to find three youths in her home; two of them were armed with knives, and she also claims that three more teenagers were waiting outside for a getaway car.
Taylor claimed that since her three small children were sleeping upstairs at the time, it was the scariest thing that had ever happened to her.
However, the courageous mother yelled at one of the burglars from her position, compelling them to go away empty-handed after glaring them in the eyes.
“There was no doubt in my mind that their body language and how they were acting in our house, that if anyone had tried to intervene there would have been an incident,” Taylor said.
“I have trouble falling asleep. Since this incident, I’ve been lying awake at night and haven’t been able to sleep. “I don’t think that these youths understand the impact they’re having on families and what they leave behind in the wake of what they’ve done.”
The incident’s perpetrators are still at large, but the family has installed security cameras. In a different incident, adolescents wearing masks are captured on camera breaking into houses during the day.
Three youths are shown savagely attempting to kick down the front door of a Pallara home in one egregious crime that occurs during the day. The Rav4 they arrived in had been reported stolen about a month prior.
According to authorities, the house is just one of dozens that the group has targeted this week.
They were seen on CCTV arriving to a Sunnybank Hills residence on Thursday at 2:30 p.m. in the same vehicle.
Teens were spotted getting out, carrying bags, and getting ready to fill them once the vehicle retracted into the driveway.
Before entering through the back door, they were observed cautiously moving around the side of the house.
It was only two minutes ago that the homeowner had left the residence.
After robbing Carolyn Loy’s house for ten minutes, they managed to escape with money and valuables.
Loy said, “This community is really not safe.” “I’m concerned they might return. My biggest concern is that.”
Just one of the teenagers tried to disguise his face at all. “They showed no concern. Although they were peering into the cameras, they were aware that we had them,” stated Loy.
On Friday morning, forensic teams showed up at Loy’s house to look for any clues.
Everything, even the drawers, had been removed.
There was chaos everywhere,” stated Loy.
The same bunch broke into another house a few kilometres away barely twenty minutes prior.
Even though the area was secured and closed, they managed to get in anyhow. Michelle Tan, a resident, described the event as “denials, scared and distress definitely.”
“It should be a safe place for myself as single mother and two young children,” a resident stated. “As far as my children are concerned, they can’t even go inside the house.”
