At a house in Sydney’s west, a woman was tragically stabbed, and a guy who is thought to be her partner has been taken into custody.
Just before 2:00 PM today, police were called to a unit on the Great Western Highway in the Penrith suburb of Kingswood.
According to authorities, a 21-year-old lady was discovered with “severe injuries including two stab wounds to her chest.”
She was not able to be saved despite the efforts of officers and paramedics to revive her and provide first assistance.
According to investigators, the flat was a sharehouse, and when the alleged stabbing occurred, other individuals were present. One of those persons phoned the police.
A 22-year-old guy was reportedly observed fleeing the area.
Police reported that he was apprehended without incident on Derby Street, Penrith, at approximately 7:10 p.m.
Once in the Penrith Police Station, he was helping the officers with their investigations.
After several hours of searching, he is apprehended. Detective Superintendent Trent King had already stated, “He is wanted in relation to her death.”
“We are aware of his identity, but the investigation is still in its early stages at this point. “We are very keen to speak to this person and we want to do it as soon as possible.”
King added that the man and the victim were unknown to the police and had no prior history of violent or domestic-related offences.
