A beloved teacher and former principal from Melbourne is being remembered after falling through a school building’s roof.
On Thursday, Paul Hogan, a relief teacher at Spotswood’s St Margaret Mary’s Primary School in the inner west, was engaged in an odd accident.
The sixty-one-year-old man went through a skylight and hit the ground more than three metres below while assisting in the retrieval of balls from one of the buildings’ roofs.
He had severe head injuries when he was brought to the hospital, but the next day he passed away.
The instructor, who spent 36 years of his career in Catholic education, has received a barrage of tributes.
Melbourne Archdiocese Catholic Schools executive director Dr. Edward Simons commented, “We hold all of those impacted in our hearts and prayers. We extend our sincere condolences to Paul’s family, friends, and colleagues.”
“Paul was a friend and a mentor to many in our community, and he will be dearly missed.”
