Following a high-speed incident on the Gold Coast, two people have been hospitalised and one man is fighting for his life.
Just before one in the morning, according to police, a Holden Commodore was driving along William Boulevard in Pimpama when it vaulted a roundabout and collided with a retaining wall.
A male passenger, 19, was taken in critical condition to Gold Coast University Hospital by ambulance.
Additionally, a 20-year-old female passenger with possible spinal injuries was sent to Gold Coast University Hospital.
The driver, an 18-year-old man, is helping the police with their investigation after being sent to the hospital for required testing.
A male passenger, 19, and a girl passenger, 18, were evaluated by paramedics.
Four of the passengers, according to Queensland Ambulance Service spokesperson Zoe Hackett, were in stable condition.
“When you’ve got five young people involved in an accident and their families all live close by it’s a very chaotic scene, very emotional scene as you can imagine,” she stated.
