The man who was allegedly killed overnight in front of a house in Melbourne’s southeast has been named.
Just after 11.30 p.m., police were summoned to Ashleigh Street in Frankston, and they have stated that they suspect a “targeted incident” led to the murder.
The 30-year-old Heatherton resident Matt Salau passed away at the site after being discovered with serious injuries.
According to neighbors, they heard a man screaming as he ran from the house after being stabbed. Jasmine, a local, described it as “terrifying.”
“Quite sad but I am not surprised from type of commotion that we hear,” a another individual stated.
Locals claimed that the street has turned into a “hot spot” for drug use, forcing some elderly neighbors and young families to put shutters because they are too terrified to leave their houses.
“Night after night, drug deals have been happening on this same corner,” David, a neighbor, remarked. “We are sick of seeing people walking like zombies down the street.”
Although the precise circumstances behind the man’s death have not yet been established, police believe both parties are acquainted.
Prior to this, Ashleigh Street was blocked in both directions while authorities looked into the incident.
