After a mother wheeling a pram was allegedly injured by a car in a hit-and-run in Sydney’s southwest, an 82-year-old woman has been taken into custody.
Yesterday at approximately 1.40% of the afternoon, a blue Mitsubishi Lancer struck a woman crossing the street on Merrylands’ Claremont Street, prompting the contact of police.
The automobile is seen driving away on CCTV.
The forty-year-old woman was discovered hurt by the side of the road and was subsequently transported in an ambulance to a hospital due to a broken leg.
The girl in the stroller, who was two years old, was uninjured.
The unregistered Lancer was taken from a house on Guildford Road in Guildford, according to confirmation from the police today.
NSW Police said in a statement, “Police arrested an 82-year-old woman at the scene and took her to Granville Police Station.”
“She has since been released without charge, pending further inquiries.”
