In the wake of the death of a Toowoomba father who was reportedly beaten on Anzac Day inside his home, a 52-year-old man has been accused.
Jim Hill, 76, was reportedly broken into by the man on April 25 between 4 and 7 p.m. on his Hood Street home in Gatton, resulting in serious head injuries.
According to the police, the two males were “acquaintances” with one another.
Hill was in critical condition when he was taken to Toowoomba Hospital, and he passed away on May 5.
The 52-year-old Gatton man has been accused by police on one count each of breaking into a residence with the intent to cause serious bodily harm, loss of liberty, and intentional damage.
He will now face before the Toowoomba Magistrates Court today after being denied bail.
