Police have stated that they are looking into film that has surfaced showing NRL reporter Paul Kent allegedly getting into a fight with some individuals outside of a Sydney inner-west venue.
This morning, a visual went viral on social media showing Kent allegedly trading punches with another man outside Totti’s in Rozelle.
NSW Police stated in a statement that it was looking into the incident, which happened on Evans Street yesterday night at around 11:20 p.m.
“As part of this investigation, officers attached to Leichhardt Police Area Command have spoken with a number of people and have secured CCTV,” added the statement.
The guys are heard in the video calling each other “dogs” during a furious altercation, while other customers and security are trying to break up the fight.
The NRL journalist is seen in the last moments of the video charging at another man before being thrown upside down into the base of a tree.
Fox Sports and News Corp Australia had earlier released a joint statement announcing the 54-year-old’s removal.
“Fox Sports presenter and News Corp Australia columnist Paul Kent has been stood down pending an immediate investigation,” the statement continues.
The event happened almost half a year after Kent was acquitted of beating and strangling a woman he had an intermittent connection with.
The allegations were related to an incident that occurred in May of last year at a residence in Sydney’s inner west, when he was charged with snatching a woman by the throat amid an argument about his cell phone.
