A man connected to the deceased woman has been charged with murder after she was discovered dead in an apartment complex in Brisbane’s Fortitude Valley.
About 1:30 p.m., emergency personnel were called to do a welfare check and discovered the woman’s body inside one of the units with stab wounds.
Inspector Karl Hahne stated this afternoon, “Police made forcible entry into a unit and found a deceased female as a result of that welfare check.”
It is believed that the woman’s husband, who is presently in Western Australia, made the request for a welfare check.
Police showed up shortly after ambulances had initially arrived on the site.
At the scene, a guy in his 40s who was thought to be the woman’s son was taken into custody.
“At this stage it’s an ongoing crime scene and investigations will continue through the night,” Hahne stated.
A 42-year-old man will appear in the Brisbane Magistrates Court tomorrow after being charged with one count of murder this evening.
According to authorities, the dead is a 66-year-old woman from Western Australia who is connected to the man.
