The hunt for a missing fisherman in a river close to Western Australia’s coast has been canceled.
At approximately 2:00 PM yesterday, the 36-year-old guy fell over the cliffs and into the water at Cape Arid, which is near the mouth of the Thomas River, east of Esperance, according to the police.
At the time, he was with a family member, and he hasn’t been seen since. Aerial support, boats, jet skis, and the SES searched the land and waterways for the man.
“A number of resources including vessels, jet-skis and air assets are currently searching the surrounding area, with SES assisting on foot at nearby beaches,” police stated.
But as of right now, the search has been canceled.
This Easter long weekend in Western Australia, there are three water emergencies that are occurring.
Emergency services are advising the public to exercise caution, especially while near or in water, and to wear life jackets.
