The death of a 21-year-old man who was hit by a car overnight on the Gold Coast is being looked into by police.
He lost his life yesterday at approximately 11:10 p.m. when he collided with a Hyundai Veloster on Smith Street in Southport.
At the scene, the Southport guy was declared deceased.
The male driver of the car, who was 21 years old, was unharmed.
According to preliminary investigations, the victim was crossing the street against a green light, a police spokeswoman said.
“We remind people, particularly pedestrians, that they make sure they’re not crossing the road against traffic lights and drivers are paying attention to speed signs and speed zones,” they stated.
