A woman claims that when she collided with a vehicle on a Queensland highway, she was harassed by oncoming drivers who cursed at her instead of pulling over to offer assistance.
On the Pacific Highway near Beenleigh, footage showed the dramatic moment the truck slammed into the side of her car, sending her spinning out of control.
Her car jolted into the path of oncoming traffic, immobilising her with panic.
“I’m just looking at the wheels going ‘please don’t go over me, please don’t go over me, please don’t go over me’,” said the woman.
She asked for her identity to be kept private in order to report harassment she had received from onlookers as she crawled passed the accident in traffic gridlock.
“It’s been probably the hardest thing to deal with, people don’t care,” she stated.
“That might be your daughter, your mother, or your closest friend. Just show some empathy.”
“You didn’t see my blinkers,” the truck driver allegedly told the woman when he pulled over to talk to her.
She remarked, “He just didn’t seem bothered.”
Despite not being hurt physically, the woman claimed to be traumatised and was seeking support for the psychological effects.
