Early this morning, a 17-year-old kid was shot in his house in what authorities believe to have been a targeted attack.
Just after two in the morning, there were reports of gunfire in Adelaide’s inner-west, and police reacted.
After being shot, the teenager was sent to the hospital with non-life-threatening wounds.
The boy’s mother claimed that when the house was bombarded, he was in his bedroom playing PlayStation.
“I hear him when he start crying, then his younger brother ran into the room,” she continued.
“Thank god the bullet did not go to his body, just to his leg” .
There was a call for officers at the Kilburn address.
When they arrived, they discovered the teenager had only sustained one gunshot wound to his leg. He was brought to the hospital to receive care for a non-life-threatening wound.
The address had many gunshot wounds, and multiple shell casings were discovered on the ground outside the residence.
In West Croydon, a stolen Renault was discovered burned in the dump twenty minutes after the shooting.
Authorities think the attack and the car are related.
“Investigations are continuing and police are hoping to speak further to the victim later today,” police stated.
