The Fraser Coast of Queensland has been the focus of a search after a 14-year-old kid was involved in a watercraft accident and went missing.
According to rescuers, the teenager may have gone from an inflatable tube this morning on the Mary River in Owanyilla, which is close to Maryborough, while being towed behind a boat.
His disappearance led to a multi-agency search and rescue operation.
At 10.45 am, the RACQ LifeFlight Rescue helicopter, stationed in Bundaberg, was summoned to the scene of the search.
The adolescent was not seen by the chopper crew, who returned to base at 1:30 pm, according to RACQ LifeFlight Rescue.
It was anticipated that the public, State Emergency Service volunteers, police divers, and drones would continue their search well into the night.
Another multi-agency search was underway at Lennox Head, in New South Wales, across the border.
At Main Beach this afternoon, a man vanished into the water.
