Qartullah Sulaiman, who held “a position of responsibility” at the telco, is accused by the police in court today of fraudulently obtaining 1500 high-end mobile phones and selling them online between January 2022 and May 2023.
On November 9, after police carried out a search warrant at a residence in Guildford, the western part of the city, the 34-year-old male was taken into custody.
During their investigation, police discovered and confiscated equipment, bitcoin, and a car.
After being brought to the Granville Police Station, Sulaiman was charged with fraud, dealing with the proceeds of crime, and altering data without authorization.
He appeared in Parramatta Local Court today and was given bail. He is scheduled to return on February 15.
