At a well-known beach in Perth, a guy was taken unconscious from the ocean and later died.
The man passed away while being transported by ambulance from Cottesloe Beach to Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital.
Another beachgoer noticed the man drifting in the ocean.
After being notified, surf life savers began a rescue.
Witnesses said that despite more than 20 minutes of CPR being given on the crowded beach, the man never came to.
According to Uvin Kojada, additional beachgoers assisted in the man’s rescue attempt.
“They carried him out using a surf board and they were just around that area giving him CPR, surf guards and a few other members of the public with a medical background,” according to him.
The man was swimming by himself and was believed to be between 60 and 70 years old.
