TV footage captured the instant a car crashed into a crowded cafe in Sydney’s west, sending chairs and tables flying and hurting multiple people.
A red Honda Accord with red P-plates collided with the coffee shop’s outdoor area at 11.30 on Saturday, prompting the dispatch of emergency personnel to Bankstown’s Coffee Emporium on North Terrace.
Before receiving medical attention from paramedics and being transported to the hospital alongside two other ladies in their 20s and a 56-year-old man, a 53-year-old lady was consoled by patrons.
The 45-year-old driver escaped unharmed.
After spending the afternoon tidying up, the well-liked eatery was allowed to reopen for business.
