A woman from Queensland was found guilty of masterminding a murderous scheme in which a man was to be fed into a woodchipper.
On November 12, 2017, Sharon Graham, 63, entered a not guilty plea to the murder of Bruce James Saunders at a house close to Gympie.
She was charged with encouraging Peter Koenig and her ex-partner Greg Roser to kill 53-year-old Bruce Saunders in order to get insurance money.
According to the Brisbane Supreme Court, Saunders was struck in the head with an iron bar and his body was fed into an industrial wood chipper to make it appear like an accident.
He passed away as the three men removed undergrowth from a friend’s rural Sunshine Coast property. Graham and Saunders had had a “on and off” relationship.
Before assisting in moving the lifeless body to the woodchipper, Koenig testified in front of the jury that he witnessed Roser strike Saunders in the skull many times with the iron bar.
According to Koenig, he put Saunders on the chipper tray and pushed the body in with a stick.
The court heard that the following day, Graham had coffee and talked about Saunders’ will before sharing his bed with another guy.
After the jury returned a guilty judgement on Friday afternoon, Graham is scheduled to be sentenced.
