After two cars crashed in Adelaide’s south, one of them ended up in a front yard while the other car rolled “several times” and left the woman critically injured in the hospital.
Two persons were trapped inside the wreckage of a car that crashed with the police vehicle while it was going on Seaview Road in Victor Harbour shortly after 1:30 in the morning. The police car’s rear compartment was ripped off by the force of the impact.
It was described to Joe Szakacs, the Minister of Police for South Australia, as a “terrible set of circumstances”.
“It was a collision that wasn’t part of a police pursuit or any other operational matter,” Szakacs stated.
After receiving brief medical attention at South Coast Hospital, both senior constables in the vehicle were released.
The Ford’s 48-year-old driver was sent to the Flinders Medical Centre after suffering severe, maybe fatal injuries.
There were no injuries to the male Ford passenger.
