A guy is accused of robbing and wrecking the vehicles that were used in a fatal shooting earlier this year.
At 6 a.m. on Thursday, police raided a residence in Marsden Park and detained the 28-year-old guy.
The arrest was made as a result of a probe into the July shooting death of 24-year-old Marvin Oraiha.
Following the incident, two burned-out cars were discovered in Cave Close in Green Valley and Lewis Street in Bonnyrigg Heights.
The man will allegedly be charged with stealing, organising, and wrecking the cars used in the shooting. During the arrest, officers discovered two mobile phones that will be subject to a forensic analysis.
He was accused of six charges, including two counts of being an accessory after the fact to the destruction or damage of property used for illegal activity by a group, two counts of dealing with criminal proceeds with the aim to hide them, and three counts of dealing with criminal profits exceeding $5000 recklessly.
Yesterday when he appeared in Mt. Druitt Local Court, bail was declined.
In connection with the same shooting, five additional defendants are facing charges and are still in custody in Liverpool Courts.
The gun-related violence task force Task Force Magnus has released CCTV footage of a black Toyota Kluger passing Oraiha’s house prior to the killing.
The public is being urged by detectives to come forward with any information.
