Services Australia has guaranteed its customers that there will be no disruption to their payments throughout the 24-hour strike.
The Community and Public Sector Union (CPSU) rejected the government’s amended pay offer, which prompted today’s work stoppage.
Up to one-third of Services Australia’s 34,000 employees, according to some sources, may go on strike.
Services Australia stated in a post to X, formerly known as Twitter, “Payments won’t be affected.”
It advised consumers who had urgent matters that needed to be attended to to use self-service kiosks or to go online.
Public servants must receive better treatment, according to the CPSU.
